Welcome!
I'm a Research Scientist in 3D Computer Vision and Visual SLAM working with Prof. Michael Milford
at the
Queensland Center for Robotics (QCR) at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT),
where I lead research on Visual SLAM and mentor PhD students and our research team in Localization tasks.
Recent highlights include AllFeature-VSLAM, a complete framework that tightly integrates diverse
features, a novel ground-truth-free tuning method for SLAM/SfM, and VSLAM-LAB, an open-source framework for
benchmarking Visual SLAM methods and datasets.
Before joining QUT, I completed my PhD on information-driven navigation at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Munich, in
collaboration with the University of Zaragoza, where I pioneered information-driven direct RGB-D odometry and semi-direct
SID-SLAM to improve visual odometry for mobile and aerial robots in planetary exploration.
My research interests span Visual SLAM, Localization, Autonomous Navigation, Visual Odometry, and Visual Place Recognition.
